Exactly 46 years have passed since the US-backed military coup of 12 September 1980. Throughout this period, which amounts to almost half the history of the Republic, the institutions created by the coup, the anti-democratic framework it established and the neoliberal socioeconomic order have remained in place. Today, the Palace regime continues to sustain itself by clinging tightly to the fascistic methods and institutions of 12 September.
