BirGün reporter İsmail Arı has been in prison for 3 days!

Our reporter İsmail Arı, who was detained at the Ankara Police Department after going there voluntarily to give a statement following a complaint by former RTÜK Chair Ebubekir Şahin, was remanded in custody by the judgeship before which he appeared on 21 October. Following the decision, Arı said: “The judge did not even listen; he interrupted the lawyers. They are sending me to prison once again for an offence that does not even carry a custodial sentence.” Our reporter was also remanded in custody last March and spent 75 days in prison.
